SVA is seeking a full time or part time gifted education teacher. The Gifted Teacher will work directly with students on their caseload by regularly meeting with them to encourage and support the pursuit of accelerated, advanced assignments, and enrichment opportunities tailored to their specific areas of giftedness. Responsibilities include scheduling and documenting ongoing check-ins to monitor service delivery and student progress over time. The teacher will collaborate closely with classroom teachers to plan and implement appropriate accommodations, modifications, and extensions of the general education curriculum, both inside and outside the classroom, to meet the needs of advanced learners. Additional duties include working with students and families to prepare for and facilitate IEP meetings, delivering professional development to staff on gifted education topics, and assisting in the screening, evaluation, and identification of gifted students.
