Instructional Models During COVID-19

SVA's Current Instructional Model: Remote
South Valley Academy is currently utilizing a remote learning model. All classes are conducted remotely on Google Meet or Zoom with teachers working from home whenever possible. Remote learning will continue through the third quarter of SY 2020-2021.
Evaluating Instructional Models: December 2020 (updated Dec. 4, 2020)
South Valley Academy's Governing Council has voted to continue remote learning through the third quarter of SY 2020-2021. (January 5 - March 12, 2021)

It is our goal to return to in-person classes as soon as it is safe to do so. In late February / early March 2021, we will re-evaluate the situation and make a decision on further instructional models for the fourth quarter. This decision will be made by SVA's Governing Council using guidance from public health orders at that time, Albuquerque Public Schools, the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED), and the NM Department of Health.
Access to Technology during Remote Learning
All students have access to an SVA Chromebook if needed. SVA has also utilized CARES Act funding to purchase mobile hotspots in order to support families who are in need of assistance with broadband access. If your family is in need of either a Chromebook or mobile hotspot, please contact your student's Advisor.
