Student Support Days

The purpose of Student Support Days is to provide students with the academic support and enrichment they need to be successful.  Student Support Days will happen on Thursday mornings every 2 to 3 weeks during the school year.  South Valley Academy has created this time because as a school and a staff we are making a commitment to ensure that everybody learns and is successful.  In order to use this time well, teachers will work to identify specific students that need to work on specific skills and/or habits and we will use that information to place those students with a teacher to help support individual student learning.  If a student just needs to sit down and do some work, he/she may be referred to a study hall.  Since each student has multiple teachers, there are limits to this, but we are trying to get as many students in the best place possible.  If a student is not identified as needing to work on a skill or go to study hall, those individual students will have the opportunity to choose a fun or enrichment activity.
