Social Work Department

Staff: Sharon Apodaca, Rosa Caro, Summer Gonzales-Ramos, Christa Hampton

As a Department, the focus is to assist ALL students and their families, in and out of the school environment, with academic, social emotional, physical/mental health and overall wellness. The Department consists of four (4) licensed Social Workers who are available to provide support to the entire school population; General and Special Education students. Social Work services are provided, as determined by the Individual Education Plan for Special Education students. For the General Education population, services are provided at the individual and group levels. Referrals are accepted when students are experiencing academic difficulties, emotional stress or other mental health issues. Individual counseling/therapy, classroom observation, outside referrals, outreach for resources, and groups are also provided. The Social Work Department also assists in facilitating the Ed-Team Process when students are referred for having academic difficulties.
