South Valley Academy is seeking certified teachers to work collaboratively with staff and families to develop and implement a model that works for students. Join our staff that promotes professional growth and has only four classes for High School and five for Middle School with an average of less than 30 students per class.

2018-2019: High School Social Studies Teacher

Candidates should be highly collaborative and have a growth mindset as well as strong instructional skills. We welcome innovative classroom practices with a focus on differentiation and inclusion. The ideal candidate would have experience guiding students to post-secondary options including college and workforce opportunities. 2018-2019: Middle School Literacy Interventionist / National Board Pilot Lead
South Valley Academy, a successful public charter school in the South Valley, serving primarily first-generation college bound, low income, Mexican immgrant students, seeks certified, licensed instructor to serve as both a literacy interventionist and National Board Pilot Lead. Candidates must have extensive knowledge and use of Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) as well as a desire to work collaboratively with general education teachers to serve struggling readers. South Valley Academy seeks licensed substitute teachers for the 2018-2019 school year. Preferred applicants will be available on-call, have classroom experience, and be comfortable working with both High School and Middle School students. 2018-2018: Special Education Teacher (High School and Middle School)
South Valley Academy, a successful public charter school in the South Valley, serving primarily first-generation college bound, low income, Mexican immgrant students, seeks knowledgeable and certified full time special education teachers. The ideal candidate will have passion for and experience withstudents with special needs, especially learning disabilities. The special education teacher should be excited to work with general education teachers in classrooms across multiple content areas. Responsibilities include: co-planning with other teachers, communicating with students and families, creating and monitoring interventions, and managing IEP caseloads.
